No car is immune from damage by rats and mice. However expensive, fast, rugged or well-designed your car is, it will still be vulnerable to having it’s wires chewed by rodents. If you are lucky you won’t know there is a problem until a warning light comes on. If you are unlucky, your car won’t start, or, even worse, your brakes will fail.
There is only one way to stop rodents from chewing car wires for sure; use a RatMat. It works like an electric fence on the floor to stop rodents in their tracks. If they can’t walk across the floor, they can’t reach your car.
RatMat tiles fit together like a jigsaw. You can drive over them and walk across them in shoes but a rat or mouse will stay away. This will save you thousands of pounds in shop costs, not to mention the inconvenience of not having use of your car. It delivers a low power electric shock which will repel the rodents and keep them away for years. The system is safe for humans, you can walk over it wearing shoes or drive over it and not get shock. It won't hurt your pets or children but rodents learn to keep away. It is low maintenence and uses less electricity than a low energy
RatMat is the only electrified flooring available which you can configure to the shape and size of your car or garage to stop rodents from chewing car wires. It is safe, gives a shock which is 40 times less powerful than a shock from an electric fence in a farmer's field and will last more than 10 years of normal use. It is important to minimise access to your car. Block up all holes in your garage and make it as difficult as possible for the rats or mice to get to your car. If you have already had damage, remove all traces of rodent smell by pressure washing the area and the car engine, if you can. Rats and mice will both follow scent trails to find sources of food, water and shelter. Scents can also be disguised with peppermint oil or chilli powder or sauce. Make sure there are no crisp packets in the footwell or food left in the boot of your car. If all else fails, you can still rely on RatMat. We find that it is still 100% effective even in areas with a heavy rodent problem where damage has been frequent in the past.
